West African Drum & Dance Workshops

Kunngana in Swahili means to connect. Our Kuungana Conference is in need of sponsors – Click Here to Support

Kuungana is under the direction of Ba Ba Kevin Collins. Kuungana has been operating since 1992. Students age 2-Adults are welcome to attend. Students are taught West African Drum & Dance, jewelry making, drum making & repair, creating African shakers and belt making. Mentoring Services are provided. As students become proficient in Drum and Dance, they will showcase their skills in performances throughout the state.

The policy and intent of Kuungana is to provide equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, marital status, political affiliation, affectional orientation, sex, status with regard to public assistance, disability, age, veteran status, and any other status protected under federal, state, or local laws. We promote respect and do not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, or other discriminatory behavior or expression.

The program will be held at The Flint Development Center, 4121 Martin Luther King Avenue, Flint, MI 48505
